Alba has been known as a established brand in the Indian security industry since 1989. In 2005, the manufacturing business division of Alba joined hands with Italy based Urmet. Today, Alba Urmet business synergy offers "innovative products to make your life simpler and safer". Urmet was founded in Torino, the birthplace of Italian telecommunications in 1937. A little more than two decades later, in 1956, the company expanded its business vertical and entered the electronic security system business producing door phone systems. In 1967, Urmet was one of the first in the world to design to a video door phone system.
