Star Malayalam Movie on Amazon Prime- To watch or not?

Well, seeing Joju and Prithviraj on the poster, there is a strong temptation to click onto and watch the movie.

The brief summary that is given also seemed convincing with a rare topic of menopause. But, the movie has done total injustice to such a not so delved topic.

At some point, you get a feeling that everyone in the movie is overacting, except for Joju George. The lead role of the mother played by Sheelu Abraham was so out of tune. Probably the problem has always been the script. The story writer could have done some real miracle with such a topic and a cast like Joju and Prithiviraj (Even though it was only for a few minutes).

The story initially revolves around so much taboo stuff and unnecessary beat around the bush. I don't think viewers especially Malayalam viewers, would be interested in such "gol gol gumana".

Putting Prithviraj on the poster was the only good thing that made me watch the movie and till the last moment i was waiting for a story line to unveil. They have simply mixed up so many things, I dont know quite how to put it.

Messy one in the whole. Could have made a brilliant one of it.

Is Take Off the same story as Airlift

Well, even i was of the misconception that Take Off is the same story as AirLift. That was the reason why I was not so eager to watch the movie.
Ikka had taken the tickets. So just decided to go watch it. But as the movie took off, it was a totally different story. Even though the story is set in the same event of Iraq crisis, it looks at a different perspective of the incident.

When AirLift is about how the businessman got into saving indians from the war struck Iraq, Take Off is about the nurse who was stuck in Iraq and tries to come out of it alive.

It's an actress highlight movie with Parvathy having taken off the movie in all means. Genuine and original acting  by the actress. Not to mention the impact of other actors like Kunchako , Fahad Fazil and Asif Ali. The story has been said in a rather encaptivating manner.
The movie being shot in Cochin and Banglore, but the exact backdrop of Iraq has been well brought onto the screens.

Good job there. This was one of those movies after Action Hero Biju and Jacobinte Swargarajyam that I felt like giving a standing ovation after the movie.

Now the wait is for Baahubali 2

Jacobinte Swargarajyam- An awakening to realize our very own Swargarajyam

We went for the movie on a reflex that Vineeth Sreenivasan family movie will be a good one and can go with kids. Truly speaking, there is either excessive bad language usage or terrorizing  scenes or unwanted scenes in most movies and I personally don't want to watch such movies with my kids. But this one, I will say, take your kids along, they will enjoy it and there is nothing that will not suit the kids.
The movie is clear and clean and beautiful.

The first thought after the movie ended with the acknowledgement by Vineeth Sreenivasan about Gregory jacob, my first reaction was to stand up and clap it out of the heart. Such a beautiful movie in all means. Every other teenage boy or girl should watch the movie and being a real story it would be like adding a good motive into your children.

Every role, every character has been made to look as real as possible and they have all done justice to their roles. Reni Panicker  Aka Jacob and his wife Sherly bring up their 4 kids- Jacob, Ebin, Ammu and Chris(Muth) in a beautiful woven family understanding with all the values imparted. One bad omen and Jacob is cheated of a huge sum of money. In his growing and fun age Jacob entrusts himself with the responsibility of getting out of things.

The movie has some very good values said in simple dialogues. The point were Sujoy's money was also cheated off from Jacob and he comes to Sujoy for asking time to repay. The moment has been beautifully played. If you help people in your good times, they will help you in your bad times. The simple 10 dirhams given to the security by Jacob comes back in the form of prayers that they needed the most.

Another moment I loved was when their mother scolds Ebin when she finds a Whisky bottle in the cupboard and he goes out without speaking a word when the bottle was actually Jerry's. When Jerry asks why he didnt say anything, he says mom has only u as relief. That was a simple scene but rather touching, shows the good bonding imparted into the kids by the father and mother. The mother is the actual hero of the story. She gives Jerry the power to stay put and face life.

The movie is actual story of Jacob Zacharia father of Gregory jacob ( Vineeth's friend). It s a 3 cheers to the real family.

Adi Kapyare Koottamani - Review

Its always an uneasy feeling watching movie at Gold Souk, Vytilla. But when you are the last minute ticket booker, you get seats only here and the only possible advantage is that its near to my home. But I would rather love to go to Cinemax instead of this wretched place where you have to walk in through a dirty back side step and come back through the same. Next time I go there i will post a few pics of this wonderful entry way to Gold Souk Cinemas.

Actually I had wanted to see Charlie, but as usual, no tickets so we settled with Adi Kapyare Koottamani. The movie posters seemed good , like comedy movie and I even liked Dhyan Sreenivasan in this previous movie Thira with Shobana. He has proved his versatility in the movie keeping up the expectations of being the son of the great Actor Sreenivasan.

The movie starred Dhyan Sreenivasan, Aju varghese, Neeraj Madhav, Another new guy in lead roles with Namitha Pramod. The whole movie whatsoever is set entirely in a college hostel. Wonder where the hostel is, looks really historical and grandeus. Namitha Pramod is the daughter of some big gunda leader and she pays Dhyan to get into the hostel. The whole story is mended around how he and then later others too join in getting her out of the hostel without the warden, Mukesh knowing about it. The reason why she got into the hostel seemed hilarious and stupid enough,  but that had given a good edge to the story line.

The movie has a good shot of instant comic locations and some very poorly unnecessarily included comic elements which had nothing comic about it. The thing that seemed rather annoying was that throughout the movie there is whisky bottles and drunk youngsters. It might be the truth of wats happening in the world, but these days movies have too much of it.

But in  a whole, there is no story line as such, debut director has a done a good job in making people laugh the final scene is outrageous on the whole. It was a feeling like" what the crap"

I am of the kind who likes a little story,  and felt like should have watched Charlie instead.

Amar Akbar Anthony At Cinemax Oberon

Its always a pleasure to watch a movie in cochin multiplex when compared to the theatres here in Trivandrum. The one theatre which I liked was Aries SL theatre where we had gone for Jurassic World 3D. It was a rather good experience with good Audio, ambience and the seats most of all. The experience watching Baahubali at Padmanabha Theatre can never be forgotten with the endless mosquito bites, low AC, No Fan and the horrible eatables with all weird branded drinks and pakkavada and potato chips.

This is the reason why I love to indulge into a good seat on a  good movie with caramel popcorn at Cinemax in Oberon. This time due to popular review we got to see Amar Akbar Anthony by Nadir Shah. The first thing that I look out for is my Lovable Caramel Popcorn, but to utter dismay there was no caramel popcorn. We ended with a bucket of cheese and salt popcorn mix. Guys here is a warning.. never buy cheese popcorn in a bucket. you cannot eat more than a handful.

To the movie...

The movie is all about 3 simple guys working for their living from the heart of cochin. The movie is all in comedy. The element of phaedophiles runs in a small section through the movie.Even after the interval the movie doesnt turn serious. but in the later half of the interval the movie gets emotional with phaedophiles matter and ends in finding the phedophiles and punished by the people. The comic element has been well carried on by Prithviraj, Indrajith and Jayasurya in the lead roles. Namitha Mohan has absolutely no role in the movie. Its more like a peek through role or a guest role and for the songs. They cud have added some more element and focus on the phedophile coz the things of the child going missing, finding dead in the canal, police intervention and the finding of the culprit all happens in about half an hour I guess. Seemed like after the whole story was scripted, there was a requirement of a solid message and in the hurry this was inserted.

Would prob give a 7 out of 10 for the movie for the immediate humor sense. Some comedy segments still seemed so unnecessary. Over a simple movie, not a theatre must watch type, but probably you can watch on TV just like that.

How Old Are You Malayalam Movie Review

How Old Are You, the much hyped about come back movie for the enchanting actress manju Warrier in the midst of the talks about her divorce with Dileep. There are people who say it was not right for her to have left her family to pursue her career and there are feminists who says she was forced to lock her dreams due to her family responsibilities.

Anyways, coming to the movie, somewhere round the corner you feel that the actress was depicting that her dreams were sacrificed for her family and now she has come out of it. Any woman can pursue her dreams, esp strong women like Manju warrier from the movie world. The movie depicts a lady, a government employee who lost all her dreams and lived for her family. But the end of it all, her efforts were not recognized when she reached 36 years of age. Cornered and desolate, she finds a new path, a new hope to bring out her talents. Good way to bring out the hidden talents in many women out there.

While watching the movie, I had a feeling that the actress had tinges of my character. It gives you a feeling that you are great and you can do it. Story line could have been made better even though the director has tried to give a big message through a simple story of a simple Kerala woman. Manju Warrier's acting does not reach up to her earlier ones though. There is some artificial feel in some places. But the movie is a hit I must say.
