BOB DHUE'S BIOGRAPHY

Biography

Bob Dhue was born as Robert Dhue. He was quick witted and was popular among the fans for his dressing style and the way he dealt with the complicated politics in wrestling. He was the former president of World Championship Wrestling (WCW) which later changed the name to World Wrestling Federation (WWF). He was managing the Omni Arena in Atlanta before coming to WCW.

Personal Life

He is married to Hutton Dhue, and the couple has two children, Laurie Dhue, and Nancy Dhue Chu. Laurie Dhue is well known as one of the most popular Television anchors, and she is an actor and director. Nancy Dhue is married and has a child, and the famous news anchor Laurie Dhue has no reported partners, marriage or divorce reports. He was having a good salary while working as the Arena Manager at the Omni Coliseum and even while in wrestling. But the actual net worth of Bob or even his daughter is not documented yet.

Career

In 1993, he got into political struggles for power within the WCW with Eric Bischoff. They fought for the position of the director of WCW. The problem arose when Dhue realized that Eric Bischoff was an easy goer and did not have any planned approach to deal things within the WCW. Dhue was more into making bold moves that benefitted the company rather than working it easy with the wrestlers.

Bill Watts was the president of WCW in 1992. He left following a controversy in 1993 where he was accused to have made racial and sexual comments. But Watts said in an interview that he had left the job due to intense backstabbing by Bill Shaw. It was during this interim period that Bob Dhue was made the president. He had told Rick Flair that it was not the same to manage the wrestlers and to manage the arena. Rick Flair wrote in his book, 'Rick: To Be the Man', that Bob Dhue was a great guy, and he knew what he was doing.

The idea to bring in Eric Bischoff as an adviser was put forward by Dhue to Rick soon after his accession. Eric and Ole Anderson were considered for the post and finally Eric was taken in. Initially,  Eric and Bob worked together but later Eric started plotting against Dhue.

Issues with Eric Bischoff

Davey Boy Smith alias British Bulldog was making a request with Eric Bischoff for a better pay as Smith put it to his credit to have the show houses packed full during that times. Bischoff initially argued and stood his position that WCW was popular among the masses due to all of the wrestler. Ultimately British Bulldog refused to show up for the next show if his demands were not met. Bischoff didn't want to loose one of the most famous players and was rethinking to accept this demands. Bob Dhue did not approve the request placed by Smith and ascertained that the WCW was already facing financial problems. And as promised Davey boy left WCW. Bob later faced issues with Eric's interference and plotting.

Eric then replaced Bob Dhue, and Bob went back to his job in the Omni Area with Turner Corporation.
