Review of Philips Sonicare Essence 5600

Of all the brushes tested by us, the Philips Sonicare Essence 5600 has the thickest handle and is also one of the shortest kind. The movements do not take place from the handle making it possible to wash the handle under running water as it is seamless. The movements are happening inside the brush head area. One can argue that the thick handle would be loved by people with larger hands, but the testing team confirmed the need for skinnier handles especially for people who are used to manual brushes.
The reports received on this electric brush model by Philips was rather disappointing and was found to have low performance when compared to all other designs. This design by Philips did not keep up to the image created by the other Philips electric brushes. The performance was rated low upon its inability to clean perfectly as other brushes.
Even though it comes with a 2 minute timer which shuts down in 2 minutes of switching on, there was no alarm system for shifting the quadrant. It comes with a travel case and charger and a small footprint. The highly noted drawbacks of this design has been the lack of the following: more than one modes, pressure sensor, special setting for sensitive teeth, UV sanitizer and progress checker.
The battery life was similar to other electric brush models and ran for 14 days. The company has presented a 2 year warranty on the product and as usual Philips customer care is flawless. They can be reached via chat, email or phone. There is no issue if you miss the manual as all information pertaining to the device can be found online.
Summary

Essence electric brush has the basic benefit of being a Philips device and comes with excellent customer care, warranty and sonic functioning. But the testers were rather disappointed with the performance factor. The model is priced rather low, so this can be a good starter for a person new to electric brushing.
