Review of Philips SoniCare FlexCare Plus

Performance Review:
We had hired testers and have stated the Philips SoniCare Flexcare Plus among the top performing automated toothbrushes they have ever used. Even though there are some drawbacks, it has been the most easy to use and efficient toothbrushes tested. Of all the brushes evaluated, this one has the smallest elongated brush head which makes it the most efficient to clean in the constricted areas of the teeth. Smaller head makes way for a larger area of motion.
Another positive factor is the light weight of the brush. We have tested several brushes for its light weight factor and this one weighing 4.5 ounces is ranked third. The light weight factor is a consideration for usage by people who have some problem in movement or strength of the hands. Lighter brushes do not cause fatigue in such people. The major flaw noted was the handle structure. The make is not as comfortable as compared to the other models tested alongside. The handle of the FlexCare Plus is of white plastic with rubber contour edges. The best designs in the market have a thin and seamless handle.
The FlexCare Plus is lightweight and thus recommended for first time electric brush users as the brush operates gently yet cleans efficiently. The first uses are preprogrammed to be even gentler making it preferable who are concerned about the roughness of the Automatic brushes.
Accessories and Characteristics
FlexCare Plus has 5 brush modes namely -Clean, Gum Care, Refresh, Sensitive and Massage. The mode selection is placed beyond the power button along with the battery charge display area.
FlexCare Plus comes with a predefined set of characteristics. The negligence shown to the care for gum receding problem has been noted as a negative. The brush has a sensitive mode, but the major problem faced by the electric brushes is the risk of gum recession due to applying excess pressure on the teeth. Most of the new model of electric brushes have the automatic cut off technology which is missing in FlexCare Plus.
To ensure that all four sections of the teeth is well brushed, the brush comes with a 30 second beep timer that notifies every 30 sec for 2 minutes. This ensures equal brushing of all areas. The travel case that comes with FlexCare Plus is of white plastic and holds the brush and the brush heads in place preventing any damage while in a travel bag. As any other FlexCare brushes, the battery hold charge up to three weeks, so you can easily avoid the charger while on a short trip.
There is no tracking facility to note the progress in brushing style and its effect. Most of the advanced electric brushes come with a Bluetooth app that tracks the brushing progress. Some people use these apps to make betterments in their brushing methods and the positive notification proves like a boost up. Once you buy the SoniCare brush, the first 14 session will help you get used to the vibrations of the automated brush. They are so gently initially that the first session will create a tickling sensation and with time it gets harder.
The importance of brushing has been highly explained by doctors and they say that flossing is a necessity even after proper brushing. There is no flossing accessory included in the brush kit and it comes with only one brush head. While doing a simple test, the SoniCare brush was switched on and placed it water and this produced a wave of waver. This same technology is being used in Sonicare FlexCare Plus to ensure that water and the paste reaches between the teeth areas. But this doesn't mean that it has flossing properties. You can even say that this is good alternative for people who are careless about flossing.
Warranty Details
As any other Philips electric brush models, the FlexCare Plus model also comes with a 2 year warranty over build defects. Detailed information on the warranty and the user manual can be found along with the brush and if at any case you lose it, you can use the digital version of the same available online on the Philips website.
Customer Service
The reachability of the Philips Customer Care was checked by the testers for the office hours and even the odd hours and the response received is commendable. They swiftly replied to email within a day and even replied quickly on chat support service. The chat support executive is very prompt in replying to queries and even presented us with a coupon code to be used for direct purchase discount from website.
Summary

The Philips Sonicare FlexCare Plus is appreciated for the good selection of brushing modes, easy to use travel case and the sleek charger. The missing factors are namely the shut off or notification for rough brushes and teeth brushing development notification. The presence of only a single extra head is also a drawback. The brush comes with a brushing timer and ensures optimal performance.
