How to Make Your Content Go Viral

The impact of social media has been tremendous in the past few years. They are increasingly changing the modes of advertisements. Small businesses and even the big players are using social media to gain more traffic and create more sales. Reports even prove that the role of social media websites has surpassed search engines to create traffic to websites. It has become important for website owners and marketers to create content that will be accepted by the social media hype. There are several content becoming popular.  Some viral articles and media are induced, created by the business to go viral while many others happen in a fluke.

The advantage of viral media is that the clicks that are received by social sharing will mostly convert into sales. People who are interested in the content share it on their Facebook. They share it because they feel their friends will like to see it. From there the friends take it on, and it goes so on and so forth. But for this content to be spread through sharing, it is important to create some unique content. Here are some simple techniques to get your content to go viral on the web.
1. Put up Your content on Social Media Networks.
The first essential tip is to put it up on all possible social media networks like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Blogs, etc. To keep the content promotion in full swing, you can add updates by tweeting about it on a different context each time. It will help you gain attention. There are industry influencers like celebrities and top notch companies. You can spin your content to include notes or points of praise of about these influencers to be noticed and re-shared by them. Such re-sharing by social media accounts with a good follower list can give you free promotion.
2. Headline
These are the top players of content. With an impressive heading and image, you can capture a good deal of attention. It doesn't mean that you have to come up with a picture and tag line that has no relation to your content. The point of making it interesting is to have some features like emotions or ones like tips, tricks or how to's. Headlines that make people anxious to know about the article will be most viewed. Stay on the safer side and do not excite the headline too much to make it seem like a spam post.
3. Image
According to surveys, Facebook posts with images get about 54% clicks and 104% more interactions when compared to ones without pictures. The same applies to Tweets where the ones with images were noticed to have been retweeted 150% more. Social media posts have an optimal image dimension to get the best fitting model. Content does play a crucial role in creating audience engagement, but recent reports have shown that the part of images are inevitable.
4. Ask for Shares
Have a mutual relationship. Ask your friends and family to share your content. Your first half of viewers will come from within this circle, and if it is worth the share, the content will become viral in a very less time. With a good content shared by the people in your circle, the first 50% of the job of making a content viral would be done. There is no shame is asking even the industry influencers to share the content. Make sure that your pick those influencers who have audience related to your content. It would just take about a few minutes to draft a great email convincing the influencer to re-share your post and the benefit that it could do to your content is immense.
5. Publish Curated Content
Pick up a trending topic or something that you feel might go viral after you post it. Gather related information from around the web and even other reliable sources. A well-curated content might become viral rather quickly as readers will be happy to get all relevant and useful information from across the web in an easy to understand format. They will also like to share the organized list on the topic with their friends.
6. Involve Collaborators
You can do round up posts involving several expert collaborators. For example, if your niche area is SEO, get some valuable information like tips from several SEO experts by informing them that you are creating a roundup article. They will be more than happy to answer your questions. They are the industry influencers, and they will have a particular interest in sharing your content. Inform the collaborators once you have published the article. You can either email them or directly link to them via your post when the article goes live using hashtags and mentions to profile. People will love to read content and knowledge from several experts in a single article.
7. Describe with Videos or Graphical representations
Long descriptive pieces of information are sometimes overlooked by people who do not have the time and patience to read through it. No one will bother to share any information that they haven't read. Infographics and videos can be added to the content along with the descriptions so that people who do not want to read the whole content can get the summary from the video and the pictorial representations. Studies prove that the human brain easily assimilates visual matter than written content.
8. Keep Content precise
Never write long, hefty paragraphs of content as they are mostly pushed away as boring. Readers mostly love listed or bulleted content with correct information. Lists like “The top 10 Facebook Campaigns” are easily ready by people. But simple headline lists with no description giving information about the list fail to make the effect. Surveys report that content with more than 800 words worked much better than those less than 500 words.

The list presented here is a small idea about getting your content shared by people. There are several other sophisticated techniques to create quality content to be shared by people. The basic rule is to stay interesting, include images and other representations and get more people involved in your content.
