Interior Idea: Using Recessed Lighting with Tech Lighting

Recessed lighting may seem like a daunting lighting technique for some. It is also known popularly as 'Can', 'Pot' or 'Downlights'.
Recessed lighting contains two different elements: housing that remains above the ceiling containing the light source and the trim that plays the role of creating the effect.
Role of recessed light

begin with a plan for the desired lighting effect required. The need for the lighting has to be defined as normal illumination, for highlighting purposes, adding layers to an already existing light source, etc. The role of the recessed lighting schedule can be to serve a single purpose or all of these. The dimension of the room and other light sources will influence the recessed lights used in the area.
Variation based on the use of Recessed light in renovation or new construction
The difference applies as you can use the lighting fixtures from above and below the ceiling whereas in a remodel project you will have access to the ceiling above and below.
IC or Non-IC

For new construction, the housings are present to the ceiling support. IC-rated housing should be used in areas where the insulation comes in close contact with the housing. Non-insulated contact is to be used when it is not in direct contact with insulation. This implies that Non-IC recessed lighting can be used for areas where there is no insulation.
Light Source for Recessed Lighting
The homeowner can choose from three light sources, namely LED, incandescent and fluorescent. The installation cost of recessed lights is high, and that's the reason why people are preferring LED as the light source as they have a longer life span.
LED Color Temperature Concerns

Differences in LED lighting based on the Temperature Scale
When you want to use several colors, LED recessed lights with varied color ranges can be checked upon. Correlated Color Temperature or CCT labeling is used to differentiate the colors. This value is measured in Kelvin (K). The K value gives the white light tone of the light. Warm lights lie between 2700 and 3000 K while cool light is between 3500 and 4000K. Residential lights mostly use warm ones while commercials use cool lights.
Size of the Recessed Light
The commonly available size range is between 3 and 6 inches and with increased demand, 2-inch ones are also available. As a common rule, smaller light size is used for urban lighting while larger ones are used for traditional lighting.
Recessed Lights and Slanted Ceilings
Recessed lights can be used on sloped surfaces, and they are specifically created for the purpose.
CRI – Color Rendering Index
CRI is the capacity of the light to display the original color of the focused object. The lighting scale is measured on a scale of 0 to 100 and LED sources have been proven to have a value in the range of 85 to 90 with halogen incandescent on a value of 100 CRO. The lowest value is for fluorescent.
Choosing the Trim, shape, and style
The trim remains exposed even if the down lighting is off and this makes it essential to have an appealing trim. ELEMENT by Tech Lighting offers round or square trims.
Trim Appearance
Flangeless: Remains even with the ceiling and gives a sophisticated look.
Flanged: The flange is placed on the ceiling but is still thin and gives a superior look.
The shape of the Trim
Square: They are used in modern architectural style.
Round: used best with rooms in a blend of contemporary and transitional.
Style of Trim used
Bevel: Increase the depth of the structure and are appealing
Flat: Give a clean and simple look.
Other factors
Color of the Trim: The usual colors are black or white. But other like nickel, brass, and bronze are also available. It is best when selected to suit the ceiling color.
Wooden ceiling: Trims for wooden or stone ceilings are available without causing any issues.
Dimming: The mood of the room can be adjusted by fluctuating the dim light and even saving energy.
Mudding: Some recessed lighting requires it to be plastered into the ceiling.
It is necessary to check the manufacturer information for light spacing as it depends on details like height, illumination requirement, features, necessity, or based on architectural detail.
